Former presidential aide and social commentator Reno Omokri has urged Nigerians and people worldwide to embrace tolerance and resist religious hatred.

In a recent statement, Omokri highlighted that most individuals inherit their religious beliefs from their parents and environment, rather than consciously choosing them.

This especially has credibility in this part of the world- Nigeria.

He noted that factors such as environment, parental influence, and history shape people’s faith traditions far more than personal decisions.

Omokri argued that it makes little sense for Christians to hate Muslims—or vice versa—since many would likely belong to a different religion if they had been born in another part of the world.

“For the overwhelming majority of people on Earth, their religion is just a reaction to forces beyond their control and awareness,” he wrote.

He further urged people to redirect their emotions and energy away from religious hatred, channeling them instead toward addressing urgent global issues such as world hunger, cancer, and wars.
