A video showing controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, being transported to prison in a security vehicle has gone viral on social media.

Portable was arraigned on Monday at the Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, where he faced a nine-count criminal charge filed by the police.

The arraignment followed his arrest after complaints were lodged against him, drawing public attention to the singer’s actions.

According to the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, the charges include assault, theft, causing harm, and resisting arrest.

Police said the charges were based on investigations into alleged violent incidents involving the singer.

The viral video, now shared online, captured the moment Portable was being transported to prison in a security vehicle after his court appearance.

The footage has since sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms.

Prosecutors allege that Portable assaulted his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple, alongside several police officers and other individuals at his bar in Iyana Ilogbo on New Year’s Day.

Other alleged victims named in the charge include Ileyemi Damilola, Akinyanju Oluwabusayomi, Olowu Olumide, Demilade Ogunniyi, and Ebuka Odah.

Portable is also accused of stealing a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at N12 million, reportedly belonging to Ileyemi Damilola and purchased from Wally Dex Auto.

The police further accused the singer of obstructing and assaulting a female police inspector, Ogungbe Olayemi, while she was performing her official duties.

The presiding judge denied Portable bail, insisting that the allegedly assaulted police officer must be present in court before bail can be considered.

As a result, Portable was remanded in custody and later sent to prison.
