A Nigerian tech professional has sparked reactions online after criticizing the Chief Executive Officer of Moniepoint Tosin Eniolorunda, over his recent comments regarding the shortage of skilled professionals in Nigeria.

In a viral video shared on X by @ChuksEricE, the lady accused many Nigerian employers of demanding highly skilled workers while offering salaries she described as inadequate.

“I have to say the owner of Moniepoint is stating BS. Big BS. You know why?

There is a problem with the Nigerian employer in the Nigerian system. You don’t want to pay. You want skillful workers and you don’t want to pay,” she said.

The criticism comes amid ongoing debates triggered by Eniolorunda’s remarks about the difficulty of finding qualified talents for technical roles in Nigeria.

Sharing her personal experience, the lady explained that she secured her first corporate job with only an SSCE certificate because her employer focused on competence rather than qualifications alone.

“The first time I got an opportunity to work in this life by somebody in a corporate body I was just with my SSCE secondary school certificate and I worked with BSc holders,” she stated.

According to her, employers should prioritize practical ability and fair compensation instead of placing unrealistic demands on job seekers.

She further questioned salary structures offered to experienced workers in the country.

“You want that lady or that guy with five to ten years experience? You want to pay me N200,000? Are you okay?” she asked.

The lady also criticized low wages paid to workers despite the increasing cost of living in Nigeria.

“Nigerian minimum wage is N70,000. Some of you are still paying your gate men N30,000 and you are coming to say you are looking for skilled people and you are not seeing them,” she added.

“Owner of Moniepoint’s statement is biased. There’s a major problem with employers in the Nigerian system, they don’t want to pay well, yet they expect highly skilled workers. I have over 15 years of work experience, and I can confidently say Nigerian employers are not… pic.twitter.com/LFcy5gI0Kp
