The Edo State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a man identified as Timothy Gilbert, who is accused of attacking his partner, 40-year-old Angela Ogah, in Benin City.

The incident reportedly happened at Ihovbe Quarters in the Ikpoba Hill area, where Gilbert allegedly poured a harmful substance on Ogah during a disagreement before fleeing the scene.

Speaking on Wednesday in Benin, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, confirmed that officers are actively searching for the suspect.

He appealed to members of the public to provide credible information that could help locate Gilbert, stressing that cooperation is crucial to the investigation.

According to Yamu, the couple had been involved in repeated disputes linked to allegations of infidelity, which escalated into a confrontation before the attack.

Yamu advised people experiencing relationship challenges to seek peaceful solutions and walk away from tense situations rather than resort to violence.

He stated that no emotional relationship should lead to harm, noting that the command remains committed to tackling domestic-related offences in the state.

Ogah is currently being treated at a private medical facility, where her condition is reported to be critical but under close supervision.
