A Nigerian police officer has sparked debates online after boldly declaring his support for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB, despite not being an Igbo man.

In a viral post shared by @general_somto on X (formerly Twitter), the officer explained why many people struggle to accept the truth.

In his words, he said:

“The truth is very hard for people to digest, if you’re an Igbo man and you don’t support Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, that means you’re not an Igbo, maybe you’re just from somewhere else. Yes, I come out to say it.

The officer emphasized that his loyalty is not dictated by ethnicity or tribal affiliation but by his belief in Kanu’s vision and leadership.

He described his support as genuine and unwavering, born from deep respect for Kanu’s principles and actions.

“I’m not an Igbo, not a Hausa, Fulani, or Yoruba, but I support that man with my life and blood.

Nnamdi Kanu is a great man, I’m telling you, he’s a great man,” he added.

His comments immediately ignited reactions on social media, with some praising his courage while others warned that such statements could stir ethnic tensions.

One commentator wrote, “Even non-Igbos are supporting him now, what does that say about us?” Another said, “Respect! Real loyalty knows no tribe.”
