In an ambitious effort to bolster Nigeria’s digital economy, Dare Oluwafunmilayo, Founder and CEO of Darey.io, has announced a comprehensive plan to equip over three million Nigerians with essential digital skills.
This initiative seeks to address existing challenges and harness the potential of the nation’s burgeoning tech-savvy youth.
The announcement took place when Darey.io/XTERNS Tech Hub hosted its opening ceremony at Yaba in Lagos State.
A modern facility has been established to create an open environment where Nigerian youth can learn essential digital skills that will prepare them for the advancing technology sector.
Oluwafunmilayo explained that the hub exists to provide young individuals with both training opportunities and professional networking together with digital economy talent development.
The 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program stands as the focal point for this initiative because it receives government backing to train millions of Nigerians in technical abilities.
By connecting with Darey.io participants will access digital monitoring platforms which deliver professional development statistics.
During the last four and half years Darey.io achieved training success with 5,000 students and currently accommodates 100,000 students through the 3MTT program.
These training sessions operate without cost because the government recognizes how public-private partnerships serve as vital instruments for economic growth.
The initiative understands that professional experience alone cannot secure jobs so it prioritizes the training of essential social competencies.
The Dare Oluwafunmilayo Human Capital Foundation serves to provide additional support to future technology professionals.
The foundation works with organizations to obtain laptop donations and stipends which support talented individuals to further economic development.
Oluwafunmilayo stated that entering the tech industry does not require students to earn a computer science degree.
Darey.io delivers an organized learning system which provides individuals with vital skills together with practical experience and industry-related education making them employable regardless of their lack of technology background.
The ministry under Francis Sani as Technical Adviser to the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy through 3MTT Nigeria positioning itself to deliver technical training without barriers of money or location to Nigerians across the nation.
Through its partnership with Darey.io the organization will deliver AI-driven project-based training that boosts training quality and effectiveness.
The program supports the national plan to establish Nigeria as a top digital talent exporter country.
The 3MTT program serves as a Nigerian initiative to prepare young people for digital opportunities worldwide which helps close the international technology talent deficit.
Digital skills investment in Nigeria aims to transform youth empowerment combined with enhanced economic performance and improved global digital economy competition.
