Parliament approves GH₵1.49 billion for Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enhance diplomatic and consular services.

Parliament has approved a budget allocation of GH₵1,486,199,777 for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration to enhance Ghana’s diplomatic and consular services.


The ministry will use approved funds to fulfill its responsibility of implementing Ghana’s foreign policy as well as protecting citizens abroad and building international partnerships.

Operating costs as well as diplomatic missions and consular services fall under the allocation which enables the ministry to maintain effective international partnerships and defend Ghanaians abroad.

Foreign ministerial funding will enable the advancement of international challenge response capabilities as well as bilateral and multilateral relations while building Ghana’s international public profile.

The allocated funds serve as fundamental support to execute Ghana’s foreign policy through economic representation and community integration efforts and foreign citizen defense programs.

The government has shown its dedication to preserving diplomatic relations worldwide while delivering effective diplomatic service through this funding approval.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration plans to utilize their budget for enhancing diplomatic missions and extending consular services together with implementing strategic international initiatives that advance Ghana’s global interests.

The national diplomatic reach will grow stronger through this funding allocation which will enable trade and investment activities and improve the well-being of Ghanaians abroad.

The government has shown its commitment to developing national interests and protecting international interests through the approved budget allocations.

The program implements strategies that support the country’s mission to build international partnerships and achieve economic development and strengthen its worldwide influence.
