Uganda music star Dan Flavour reveals mental health struggles following a rental conflict with Lydia Jazmine that led to police involvement.
Uganda music star Dan Flavour, born Daniel Tumwesigye, has opened up about his mental health challenges following a rental dispute with singer Lydia Jazmine.
He revealed the experience nearly drove him to suicide.
The dispute began when Dan Flavour rented a house in Munyonyo for Airbnb business. He sublet it to Lydia Jazmine, who paid UGX 2.5 million per month, covering eight months in advance.
Jazmine later shared photos of the house on social media, thanking God for her new home.
These posts reached the Norwegian owner of the house.
The owner accused Flavour of trying to sell the property without permission.
Jazmine then filed a complaint with the police, accusing him of obtaining money by false pretenses.
Flavour was arrested and jailed over the claims.
The experience took a severe emotional toll.
“That lady Lydia Jazmine made me hate this country at one time to the extent that I almost contemplated ending my life,” he said during an interview.
This troubling episode has sparked conversations in Uganda music star circles and beyond about mental health and the need for professional clarity in business dealings.
The incident underscores the psychological strain public figures can face behind the scenes.
