Chris Brown released on $6.7 million bail by UK court over 2023 assault charges; allowed to proceed with world tour under stringent conditions.
A UK judge has granted Grammy-winning singer Chris Brown release on £5 million ($6.7 million) bail amid serious assault charges stemming from a 2023 incident at a London nightclub.
The decision enables Brown to continue his “Breezy Bowl XX” world tour, which commences on June 8 in Amsterdam
Initially arrested in Manchester on May 15, 2025, Brown was denied bail due to the severity of the charges.
However, High Court Judge Tony Baumgartner later granted bail under strict conditions:
Brown must pay £4 million upfront and an additional £1 million within seven days, surrender his passport except for tour-related travel,.
“Avoid contact with co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu (known as “Hoody Baby”), the complainant, or the involved nightclub.
Brown’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 20 at Southwark Crown Court.
The charges carry a maximum penalty of 16 years in prison.
Despite the legal proceedings, Brown’s tour will proceed as planned, with performances across Europe and North America.
The singer, who recently won a Grammy for his album “11:11 (Deluxe),” has not yet entered a plea.
