United States singer Halle Bailey gets sole custody of son Halo and a court order against DDG over alleged abuse.

United States singer Halle Bailey has obtained temporary sole physical and legal custody of her 16-month-old son, Halo, amid allegations of abuse by her ex-boyfriend, rapper DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.)

A Los Angeles judge issued a restraining order preventing DDG from coming within 100 yards of Bailey or their son.

The order also bars him from making public statements about the case until the next hearing on June 4, 2025.

According to legal documents, Bailey described a pattern of alleged physical, verbal, emotional, and financial abuse throughout their relationship, which began in early 2022 and ended in late 2024.

She detailed a violent incident in January 2025, where DDG allegedly assaulted her during an argument about visitation.

The assault left Bailey with a chipped tooth and visible bruises.

Bailey claims DDG also entered her home without consent, threatened to take Halo away, and used social media to spread false information about her.

She asked the court to suspend all unsupervised visitation rights.

Instead, she agreed to one supervised visit each week for six hours, but only if DDG remains in Los Angeles.

She also requested a travel restriction, requiring DDG to obtain her permission before taking their son out of Los Angeles County or applying for travel documents.

The temporary custody ruling means Bailey has full legal authority over her son’s daily care and decisions until the court makes a final decision.

The restraining order also prohibits DDG from contacting Bailey or Halo in any way, including online or through third parties.

This case highlights growing concerns around domestic abuse and child protection within high-profile relationships in the United States.

The court will review the evidence and testimonies during the June hearing, which may lead to permanent custody and protection orders.

Bailey has expressed hope that the legal action will bring peace and security for her and her child.
