Nigerian social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), shared his thoughts on Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali following Nigeria’s 4–1 triumph over Gabon in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
In a video released shortly after the match, VDM praised Nwabali for his consistency and commitment between the posts, but also cautioned him against overconfidence during games.

“Nigeria has secured a 4-1 victory, bringing us closer to World Cup qualification.
Nwabali, you’ve been doing a fantastic job as our goalkeeper. Your hard work is truly appreciated.
However, sometimes your confidence borders on overconfidence,” VDM remarked.
He highlighted that in previous matches, Nwabali’s risky decisions nearly caused problems and urged him to remain focused as the qualifiers progress.
“You are talented, but being too confident could create trouble down the line. Bigger challenges are ahead, so please stay sharp,” VDM added.
Despite his warning, VDM expressed his admiration for the Chippa United goalkeeper and reassured him of the fans’ unwavering support.
“You are a great keeper. We appreciate you, we love you, and we thank you for everything you do,” he said.
Nwabali has consistently impressed since his standout performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where he played a key role in helping the Super Eagles reach the final.
