Social media has been flooded with mixed reactions following unverified claims that Nollywood actor Maurice Sam survived an alleged assassination attempt and plans to leave the film industry and Nigeria for safety reasons.
The reports began after activist VeryDarkMan shared images online showing a damaged Toyota SUV said to belong to the actor.
According to the post, more than 20 bullets were allegedly fired at the vehicle, but Sam reportedly survived without injuries.
The activist claimed the actor was considering resigning from Nollywood and relocating abroad permanently to protect himself and his family.
The story quickly spread across entertainment blogs, triggering shock, prayers, and concerns about rising insecurity in the country.
However, many social media users have expressed skepticism, pointing out the absence of visible injuries, lack of blood in the images, and no official confirmation from the actor or law enforcement authorities.
