Nigeria partners with LONGi Solar France SARL in a 2,600MW solar module supply deal to advance its Green Hydrogen Hub Project in Akwa Ibom State.

The Green Hydrogen Hub Project of Nigeria received a critical boost when it signed a 2,600-megawatt (MW) solar module supply agreement with LONGi Solar France SARL.

The initiative runs from the Liberty Oil & Gas Free Trade Zone in Akwa Ibom State to transform Nigeria into an energy production hub for clean energy in the region.

Uche Nnaji who heads Nigeria’s Innovation Science and Technology Ministry revealed the agreement as a key tool to maximize solar energy capabilities while helping domestic industry expansion and allowing international hydrogen trade and clean transportation development.

The minister proclaimed this arrangement stands as the biggest solar procurement agreement in sub-Saharan Africa since it boosts Nigeria’s position in worldwide green hydrogen markets while advancing its progressive renewable energy goals.

Nigeria now stands relatively near the size of major solar energy projects such as the 3,500MW Midong Solar Park in China.

Nigeria demonstrates its dedication to move past fossil fuels while embracing clean energy systems thanks to this development which maintains alignment with worldwide climate change reduction and sustainable growth initiatives.

The government together with APPL Hydrogen Limited (AHL) and LONGi Green Energy Technology Company Limited (LGETCL) reached this agreement in Uyo of Akwa Ibom State.

The project seeks to establish Nigeria’s economy as more diversified by boosting exports and solving foreign exchange problems.

Nigeria demonstrates its commitment to renewable energy technology adoption through strategic alliances between international partners to create a sustainable economy of tomorrow.
