The recognition comes as part of YouTube’s Black Voices Fund campaign, which amplifies Black creators across 15 countries.

Kadiri, known for her prolific film production and self-help vlogs, was praised for her “Real Talk With Ruth” series tackling relationships and women’s empowerment.

Meanwhile, KieKie’s viral comedy skits and brand parodies earned her a spot as one of Nigeria’s most-watched female creators.

The platform’s tribute included:

  • Dedicated homepage banners for featured creators
  • Behind-the-scenes documentaries on their creative processes
  • $10,000 production grants for upcoming projects

Other Nigerians recognized include food blogger Sisi Yemmie and travel vlogger Tayo Aina, reflecting YouTube’s push to diversify African representation beyond music content.

YouTube’s Head of Partnerships for Sub-Saharan Africa noted: “These creators prove African stories have global appeal when given proper platforms.”

The campaign has already driven 40% more subscriptions to featured channels since its launch.

For Kadiri and KieKie, this marks another milestone in their transition from traditional entertainment to digital dominance.

As YouTube invests $100 million in Black creators globally, Nigeria’s thriving creator economy continues gaining international recognition.
