Ghana 68th Independence Day happens to be today, 6th of March, 2025. The nation marks its independence from British imperial control which was gained in 1957.

This year’s theme is “Reflect, Review, Reset”. Through this theme Ghanaians gain chances to assess national progress as they anticipate hopeful developments for the next years.

The present economic difficulties require this year’s events to keep their celebrations simple. The central celebration takes place at Jubilee House instead of the traditional Black Star Square.

The reduced number of attendees will not affect significant customs observed during the event. A military honor guard combined with cultural performances from children will take place during the celebration. A student from a senior high school will deliver a poetry recital at this occasion.

The president of Ghana President Mahama will give the Independence Day address.

Through his speech the president will emphasize national unity together with resilience and love for the nation. He will analyze how Ghana progressed during its history as a country. The speech serves to underline how Ghanaians should keep their eyes on advancing national progress.
