Bella Shmurda discusses the challenges of fame and financial pressure as his family’s main provider, highlighting the personal struggles behind his public success.
Nigerian Afrobeats artist Bella Shmurda has candidly shared the personal challenges that come with his rise to fame, particularly the pressures of being the primary financial support for his family.
In a recent vlog, the ‘Cash App’ hitmaker, whose real name is Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, expressed that the responsibility of being the family’s breadwinner is immense.
“I am the major breadwinner of my family; that comes with a lot of pressure. It’s hard. The money has got to keep coming; if not, I’m in trouble,” he stated.
Bella Shmurda also touched on the downsides of fame, noting that his celebrity status has led to a loss of personal freedom.
“I blew up at the age of 25. I only enjoy the celebrity lifestyle just a little. When I wasn’t a celebrity, I used to be more free and hang out with friends. But now, it’s like I’m in a box,” he explained.
Despite these challenges, the singer remains driven by a strong sense of purpose.
He shared that he always felt destined for success, saying, “There’s this feeling. If you are going to make it, you will know, and you won’t stop working. Naturally, you will be feeling it.”
Bella Shmurda’s openness provides a glimpse into the often-overlooked personal struggles that accompany public success, shedding light on the human side of celebrity life.
