Monzer Ali appointed CEO of MTN Rwanda, focusing on expanding digital access, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable growth nationwide.

Monzer Ali appointed CEO of MTN Rwanda, marking a significant leadership transition aimed at propelling the nation’s digital transformation.

With 24 years in the telecommunications sector, including 21 within the MTN Group, Ali brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

He succeeds Mapula Bodibe, whose tenure was noted for significant milestones in the company’s growth.

Ali’s vision for MTN Rwanda centers on three core pillars: accessibility, innovation, and sustainability.

He emphasizes the importance of ensuring access to digital tools for all Rwandans.

This includes initiatives like accelerating the rollout of affordable smartphones and expanding mobile banking solutions.

In collaboration with Chantal Kagame, CEO of Mobile Money Rwanda Ltd (MMRL), Ali plans to deepen the company’s financial inclusion agenda.

Efforts will focus on bringing secure, innovative services to individuals and businesses alike, thereby reducing barriers to digital participation.

Under Ali’s leadership, MTN Rwanda is also committed to advancing green energy initiatives.

These include adopting energy-efficient technologies, transitioning to hybrid or fully electric vehicles.

To enhance customer experience, MTN Rwanda plans to introduce self-service web portals, upgrade digital platforms, and modernize service centers.

These improvements aim to simplify and enrich everyday interactions, putting more control in customers’ hands and minimizing service friction.

With Monzer Ali at the helm, MTN Rwanda is poised to advance its mission of leading digital solutions for Rwanda’s progress.
