Obi had posted a message on X titled “Is Nigeria cursed or are we the curse?”, where he expressed concern about the alarming rate of kidnappings across the country, including the abduction of schoolchildren.

Freed Kwara church attack victim recounts ordeal in bandits den
A member of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) from Eruku, Kwara State, who was recently released from captivity, has recounted the terrifying conditions he and other hostages faced while being held by bandits in a remote forest.
It was earlier announced by the president that all the abducted worshipers regained their freedom on Sunday.
According to his account, the abductors made it clear from the beginning that escape was impossible because they had complete control of the territory.
“It was unimaginable because when we got there, we really know that it was a dominated area,” he said.
“Even they had to tell themselves that we are bandits and made us to know that there is no one that can just slip away. And with what we saw nobody could escape.
They know all the routes surrounding all those bushes within Kwara and other cities.”
