Popular Nigerian actress Lizzy Gold has publicly addressed her father’s perceived entitlement mentality following a recent family interaction.

In a now-deleted Instagram video, the actress recounted an incident where her father requested an Easter gift, prompting her to send a monetary amount ten times larger than usual.

However, she was disheartened to receive only a terse “thanks” in response, without the customary prayers she cherished.

Expressing her feelings, Lizzy stated, “I woke up only to check my phone and see ‘thanks’. No prayers. Nothing.”

When she confronted her father, he replied that he had prayed for her in his heart.

Lizzy responded, emphasizing the importance of verbal appreciation: “Daddy, I don’t pluck money from the trees. I work tirelessly for money. I enjoy the prayers. It gingers me to want to do more.”

This candid revelation has sparked discussions on social media about familial expectations and the emotional impact of unacknowledged generosity.

Many netizens have praised Lizzy for shedding light on the often-overlooked emotional labor involved in family dynamics.
