The movie which talked about the musical history of the legend, focusing on his groundbreaking 1977 album “Exodus” was directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green.

The life history of Bob Marley “One Love” has continued to surpass expectations at the box office. The movie reached the No. 1 position at the box office at the expense of two debut movies and “Madame Web” by Sony that has fallen short of expectations number-wise.

As a result of the staggering numbers the 70 million dollar movie is pulling, it has raked in $72 million locally in North America within two weeks, as $13.5 million was made in its second week of release. The movie has grossed $72million in total so far.

Senior Media Analyst at Comscore, Paul Dergarabedian talked about the ‘everlasting’ impact Bob Marley’s music has.

“Some of his greatest hits came out nearly 50 years ago, but his music still resonates through this film,” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst for data firm Comscore.

Paul said

The movie pulled $2 million to “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba- To the Hashira Training” which sits at the second position. The new Japanese anime series got $11.7 million.

However, “Demon Slayer” recorded $11.5 million from 1,949 locations compared to “One Love” with 3,597 locations. “Ordinary Angels” that stars Hilary Swank sits at third position got $6.5 million with 3,020 locations.

Due to the low numbers recored at the Box Office this week, Dergarabedian hopefully expects that to change next week with the incoming release and anticipated “Dune: Part Two” which would replace “One Love” at the No. 1 position.

He went further adding there might not be any blockbusters off recent but that should not affect the numbers, as there are some good movies for moviegoers.

“There might not be any huge blockbuster films recently, but there some real gems out there for moviegoers to see,

It’s the calm before the sandstone.

Dergarabedian said

The Spider Man spinoff was tipped to do big numbers especially as it starred Dakota Johnson as the lead Marvel character, but it has been disappointing so far.

The movie got $6 million in its second week and struggle to gross $35million. “Demon Slayer”, ” One Love” and “Ordinary Angels” outdid “Madame Web” which flopped.
