The singer, whose real name is Michael Kasaija, addressed the rumors during a press conference in Kampala.

“Politics is not my calling,” Wine stated firmly. “My mission is to elevate Ugandan music globally while creating jobs through my ventures.”

His comments come after months of speculation linking him to youth-focused political movements.

The brother of opposition figure Bobi Wine, Mikie has often been asked if he’d follow in his sibling’s footsteps.

However, he emphasized that while he supports social causes, his path lies in entertainment and entrepreneurship.

Political analysts note his decision avoids potential conflicts with Uganda’s restrictive climate for artist-politicians.

Meanwhile, fans applaud his commitment to music, anticipating his 2025 “Kiboko” album.

“Let the politicians lead,” Wine concluded. “I’ll keep making hits and building businesses.”
