The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) through it’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale that Yahoo Boys are causing more havoc on Nigeria’s economy than any other group.

Oyewale noted that the “Anti-corruption fight, is a broad based fight” that involves all hands on deck as the activities of cyber fraudsters continue to undermine economic stability and impede development across the country.

“The present reality today in this country is that the internet fraudsters or so called Yahoo Boys are wrecking more terrible havoc on Nigeria’s economy than any other sets of people.”

The statement has sparked debate on social media, with many Nigerians questioning why the commission is targeting online fraudsters while high-level government corruption continues.
