This one is to creatives, Dr. Bryan Acheampong has something to say about AI.
Addressing students in UniMAC, the Minister of Agriculture stated that AI will transform creativity instead of killing it.
He told artists not to fear AI but to consider it a collaborator. He says creative industries need to change in order to remain relevant.
Acheampong observed that AI would help in the streamlining of content generation and reach to the world platforms.
It can substitute originality and human emotion though.
In this dynamic environment, he requested students to safeguard their work with intelligent copyright systems.
He demanded an immediate change in media legislation and intellectual property.
The minister further cautioned against the resistance of technology.
He encouraged artists to study AI technology and stay true to their artistic style.
He said that creativity will never be without human experience, culture and storytelling.
AI could help, but it cannot be a full-fledged leader.
His message created discussions regarding the future of Ghanaian creatives in a technologically dominated world.
The lesson to young artists was obvious: change quickly, learn even faster and do not forget about your artistic identity.
The future is to the evolvers. And Dr. Acheampong thinks that Ghana creatives are up to it.
