Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ekene Uwenwa has made a comeback on social media, sharing a video from her prayer session as she prepared for the new week, amid recent controversies.
The tension started when a Nigerian woman living in the United States, who had invited Uwenwa to the country, accused the actress of repaying kindness with hostility.
In a video that quickly circulated online, the woman also made serious claims about comments Uwenwa reportedly made about other industry colleagues.
“She said Destiny Etiko mistreats her mother and had a lot to say about other colleagues,” the woman alleged.
The situation escalated when Uwenwa’s former close friend, Deacon Famous, publicly criticized her for what he described as betrayal.
He claimed that after sending her a script and traveling with his team, Uwenwa failed to show up or respond.
In his statement, Deacon Famous added that the actress had been rude when he reached out to his spiritual mother over the phone.
On Monday, February 16, 2026, Uwenwa shared a video praying for a victorious week for herself and her supporters.
“This new week, the Lord will raise a standard for you against your enemy,” she said in part of the prayer.
She also reflected on her faith in the caption, emphasizing that God remains constant through both good and bad times.
“When it is good, you are God; and when it is bad, you are still God. Nothing absolutely nothing changes,” she wrote.
