Nigerian music sensation Omah Lay has revealed that he turned down an offer for a new musical collaboration with Afrobeats star Davido, citing a need to focus on his own career trajectory.
Omah Lay made the disclosure during a recent podcast appearance, giving insight into his strategic decisions regarding high-profile partnerships following their successful previous work.
The two artists first collaborated on the hit track “With You,” a song that garnered significant airplay and positive reception from fans across the globe.
Despite this proven success, Omah Lay explained that he had to make a tough choice when the opportunity for a second collaboration arose.
“After we dropped the hit song ‘With You’, Davido called me for a new collaboration but I declined because I have my career to pursue too,” Omah Lay stated on the podcast.
