A missed opportunity nearly halted actor Timini Egbuson’s career before it began.
The Nollywood star recently revealed he was once shortlisted for Big Brother Naija but got dropped last minute.
Speaking on ‘The Culture League’ podcast, Timini shared that despite preparing everything including hiring a social media handler, he was never called back.
But that rejection led to his big break. That same year, he landed a lead role in MTV Shuga Naija, a project that launched his acting career.
“I think if I had gone on Big Brother, the hype would have faded by now. MTV Shuga set my real path,” he said.
He explained that many seemingly lost opportunities often protect people from the wrong paths. “I’ve seen friends get gigs I wanted, but in the end, those weren’t meant for me. I’m exactly where God wants me to be,” he added.
Timini reflects on the importance of trusting the process and seeing rejection as redirection.
