This announcement by BBK was made for its second quarter. Furthermore, data available to the public from a market analytics company, Counterpoint Research shows that only Apple, Samsung, Huawei and Vivo had achieved this milestone in a short time, and now Realme joins the big guys.

To the bigger data, about 14 smartphone companies in the world have shipped over 200M units of smartphones in total to date. Realme is also ranked as one of the top 10 best smartphone brands in the world and here is what the company’s chief marketing officer, Xu Qi said;

We came into existence when there were over 700 smartphone brands in the world. We are extremely proud that we have been able to be in the world’s top 10 brands for the past five years.

Xu Qi

Back in 2017/2018, the world had a little over 700 smartphone companies and at the current time, we only have about 250. Xu Qi in a statement also noted to Realme’s audience/fans that they are ready to compete with the big guys.

Realme plans to launch its very first non-budget smartphone. The Realme GT 5 Pro is said to feature Sony’s new Lytia camera sensor and Qualcomm’s newest high-performance chip known as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
