The Seychelles Trading Company (STC) slashed essential goods prices in La Digue to enhance accessibility and affordability for local residents. The government initiative works to reduce living expenses while providing household members on La Digue reasonable prices for essential items.

For an extended period, La Digue islanders have dealt with elevated essential product prices because transportation expenses and supply chain difficulties exist. The price modification introduced by STC works to create equal pricing between Seychelles’ different territories.

This price reduction affects essential household items that include rice and cooking oil together with flour and sugar and several other necessary household products. The initiative lowers product costs to deliver needed financial assistance to families especially those maintaining low incomes.
