UAE humanitarian support to Sudan has reached $3.5 billion, including emergency relief, medical care, and long-term development for refugees and host communities.
UAE humanitarian support to Sudan has now surpassed $3.5 billion, as the country intensifies efforts to alleviate the ongoing crisis.
The United Arab Emirates donated $600.4 million in humanitarian assistance beginning with a $200 million contribution at the High-Level Humanitarian Conference for the People of Sudan in Addis Ababa in February 2025.
Through its relief operation the UAE established an air bridge transporting 162 aircraft while delivering medical supplies and food items with multiple humanitarian ships.
The delivered aid amounts to 13,000 tons which provides support to both displaced Sudanese residents and refugees within Chad and Uganda.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the establishment of the Madhol Field Hospital in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state, South Sudan as per his direction in March 2025.
The 100-bed healthcare facility presents medical services to more than two million refugees.
The hospital operates in addition to two other facilities in Chad which have treated over 90,000 patients.
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State, stated that these humanitarian endeavors fulfill the visionary approach originally established by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Shakhboot declared that the UAE maintains its commitment to helping the Sudanese population through international and regional cooperative partnerships.
The UAE continued its pledge to development goals by building water wells and 16 health facilities at the Kiryandongo Refugee Camp in Uganda before funding educational projects through UNICEF for Sudanese refugee children in Chad.
The projects demonstrate extended dedication toward protective actions as well as sustainable advancement.
