ZESCO to add 500 megawatts of solar power to national grid, enhancing Zambia’s energy capacity and supporting sustainable development goals.

ZESCO to add 500 megawatts of solar power to national grid, marking a significant step in Zambia’s commitment to renewable energy.

 The state-controlled utility declared its intention to incorporate the new capacity by implementing different solar power projects that will increase nationwide electricity availability and decrease power dependence on conventional sources.

Zambia has adopted this initiative because it supports its energy diversification goals and sustainable development targets.

ZESCO plans to expand its solar energy capacity with the goal of achieving better electrical stability while addressing increasing energy requirements while protecting the environment.

The planned addition of 500 megawatts solar power capability will create beneficial effects which will help economic outcomes and quality of life improvements for both urban and rural communities.

More sustainable investments in renewable energy demonstrate Zambia’s commitment to constructing an environmentally friendly and durable power system for the future.
