Speed Darlington criticizes VDM supporters for protest expectations, questioning their absence during his own detention.

Nigerian singer and internet personality Speed Darlington has openly criticized fans of activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) who urged him to join the ongoing protests demanding VDM’s release from EFCC custody.

During a live session, Darlington expressed frustration, highlighting that no one protested on his behalf during his own previous detention.

He stated, “How many of you protest, did you protest for me? God punish you! You come my page to disrespect me. Your mates are hustling, trying to make something of their lives.”

The incident has sparked discussions on social media, with some users defending Darlington’s stance, noting that he was unjustly detained without public support.

Others argue that his response was unwarranted, emphasizing the importance of solidarity in advocating for justice.

The situation shows the expectations placed on public figures during times of social activism.
