The Old Mutual Foundation has allocated N$105,000 to fund five Namibian schools as part of their comprehensive effort to enhance sustainable practices and food supply systems in Namibia.

The ‘Little Green Ambassadors’ initiative funded this amount of money since its launch in October 2023 to help students start fruit-bearing tree and vegetable garden projects on school grounds. citeturn0search0

Outstanding educational institutions receiving recognition include the mentioned schools:

  • Môreson Special School received N$40,000 as part of the grant award from the Old Mutual Foundation.
  • The funds will support Ariamsvlei Primary School to the amount of N$30,000.
  • The school received N$20,000 as a recognition at the DD Guibeb Primary School.
  • Ben van der Walt Primary School Awarded N$10,000
  • Wilhelm Nortier Primary School received an award fund of N$5,000.

These educational institutions have achieved outstanding development in their school gardens while actively training their students to care about their environment. The received funds will help these sustainability projects reach greater heights to generate lasting advantages for all school communities.

Old Mutual spokesperson Hileni Amadhila praised school dedication when she noted that the institutions displayed significant garden growth while implementing environmental awareness programs for their students. The prize money valued at N$105,000 will enable them to develop their school gardens as sustainability projects while distributing portions to fund their sustainability work.

Patricia Olivier from the Old Mutual Foundation explained that the program aims to create future environmental stewards by teaching essential know-how for making positive change in our world.

The ‘Little Green Ambassadors’ program supports students’ food requirements while developing their capability to protect their environment. Through integrated agricultural skill instruction students obtain practical sustainable practice abilities which enable them to make beneficial community contributions.

The gardens at schools function as multiple learning spots that provide students with experiential education beyond their regular academic coursework. The educational program teaches students to understand basic concepts such as biodiversity significance along with resource handling skills and ecological effects of food production systems. Such knowledge proves essential because the world faces rising environmental threats and food scarcity problems.

The Old Mutual Foundation demonstrates its dedication to community development and corporate social responsibility through its program investments. Old Mutual’s backing of educational institutions in sustainability initiatives enables the development of resilient communities which will withstand upcoming social challenges.

The ‘Little Green Ambassadors’ initiative demonstrates that group efforts between businesses and schools produce genuine systemic alterations. School gardens enable students to create more sustainable surroundings and develop core skills which will grow into a sustainable world.
