South Africa employment drive kicks off this April as the Department of Basic Education (DBE) prepares to open job applications for youth under Phase V of the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI).
Through collaboration with the Department of Employment and Labour the program makes available more than 200,000 temporary positions for jobless South Africans within the age bracket of 18 to 34.
The South Africa employment drive fights youth unemployment by placing its beneficiaries into public schools throughout the nation.
SAYouth.mobi serves as the only platform for processing applications during the period from April 22 through May 9, 2025 while walk-in applications will be rejected.
The employment period for accepted candidates will run from June to November 2025.
Job opportunities at the employment drive include Curriculum Assistants with e-Cadres involvement and Care and Support Assistants coupled with Laboratory Assistants and Sports and Enrichment Assistants while Handymen and women complete the list of available positions.
The created positions focus on developing useful abilities alongside public education system support in South Africa.
The recruitment program targets candidates who fall between 18 and 34 years old and who do not attend school and do not work or receive any payment.
People must live within a 5-kilometer distance of their preferred school location or 30 kilometers for rural areas with a valid South African ID as well as a clean criminal history.
Monthly pay at R4,000 and R30 worth of data will be provided to beneficiaries as part of their work support.
Employment training in digital literacy together with entrepreneurship and workplace readiness prepares beneficiaries for sustainable employment in the future.
