President Yoweri Museveni delivered a message to Kigezi sub-region farmers to emphasize value addition in agriculture through egg processing since this would boost household earnings and support regional economic expansion.
The president mentioned that poultry farming exists widely in the area yet many farmers feed the eggs raw without capturing the additional profit potential of processing and value enhancement. The president pleaded with farmers to start powder egg production because this processed food keeps longer while providing the opportunity to sell nationally and worldwide.
President Museveni emphasized that converting eggs into powder enables both enhanced preservation capabilities and fresh business opportunities through his statement. This method conforms to our national development strategy which targets industrial growth and raw agricultural export reduction.

The President expressed to farmers that his administration would actively support this initiative through developing training programs and establishing resource centers for egg processing plant construction. President Museveni invited private industry to initiate agro-processing facilities throughout the region because this investment path would simultaneously generate local jobs and develop Uganda’s economic performance.
The Ugandan government continues to urge action through this initiative as part of their mission to promote value addition throughout agriculture sectors which seeks to improve both market competitiveness and farmer prosperity.
