AI glasses from DreamSmart will support mobile payments via Ant International, with global expansion planned for 2025.
AI glasses are set to revolutionize mobile payments as DreamSmart Group, owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, plans to integrate this functionality into its StarV Air2 eyewear.
In collaboration with Ant International, the feature is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2025.
Users will be able to complete transactions by tapping a button on the glasses’ temple and confirming via voice command.
This development aims to enhance the practicality of AI glasses in daily life.
Beyond mobile payments, DreamSmart’s AI glasses currently offer real-time translation, navigation, and a teleprompter feature.
The company plans to introduce a new model equipped with a camera, enabling AI object recognition.
DreamSmart, known as Xingji Meizu in China, was established in 2022 after acquiring a majority stake in smartphone maker Meizu.
The company’s strategy focuses on building an ecosystem encompassing smartphones, extended reality devices, and smart electric vehicles.
Global shipments of smart glasses surged 210% in 2024, driven by the launch of Meta Platforms’ Ray-Ban AI glasses.
DreamSmart aims to capitalize on this trend by expanding its glasses to markets in Southeast Asia, Europe, North America, Japan, and South Korea.
With the integration of mobile payments and plans for global expansion, DreamSmart’s glasses are poised to become a significant player in the wearable technology market.
