The paternity dispute surrounding Liam, the son of late singer Mohbad, resurfaced again after the child’s mother, Wunmi, released a new statement addressing allegations that she has been evading the DNA test demanded by Mohbad’s father.

This comes after Mohbad’s father revealed that the DNA court case has been reopened and the singer won’t be buried until the process has been completed.

The bereaved grandfather has repeatedly questioned Liam’s paternity and approached the court to compel Wunmi to submit the child for DNA testing.

Public opinion has often accused Wunmi of stalling the process.

However, in a statement issued through her lawyers and shared on her Instagram page, Wunmi insisted that Mohbad’s father has been the one delaying the test.

According to her, the case resumed in court yesterday, where her father-in-law applied for an order that the DNA test be conducted exclusively in two hospitals of his choice.

Wunmi said the court rejected the request and struck out the application, ruling that the test must be conducted in two neutral and independent hospitals where neither party has personal interests.

She noted that this was part of the reason the process has dragged on, stressing that she remains ready to comply with the court’s directive once neutral facilities are chosen.
