The cross-border meeting highlighted the continued need for peace and mutual understanding between Uganda and South Sudan.

Nyerere Julius Andama, Moyo District Assistant Resident District Commissioner showed appreciation toward the calm and protected border area.

During his meeting he emphasized how Uganda has always backed South Sudan and pointed out that economic growth serves as a foundation for maintaining peace.

According to Andama “Peaceful living among our people depends on their money earnings which will improve both their financial standing and their peacekeeping efforts.”

Anyama Williams as the Local Council 5 Chairperson of Moyo District emphasized the significance of conducting boundary verification and demarcation.

He argued that well-defined boundaries must not obstruct peaceful coexistence so communities should remain adaptable about settlement areas.

Williams stated that Madi people residing in Moyo region inside Kajo-Keji territory tomorrow will stay there permanently.

Kajo-Keji County Relief and Rehabilitation Commission coordinator Pijakajo Moses emphasized the importance of mutual national cooperation to develop lasting peace between Sudans.

The need for continual dialogue required ongoing meetings between the communities for mutual understanding purposes.

This meeting demonstrates ongoing work to strengthen border relations as well as efforts to tackle common community problems for the long-term peace development of South Sudan and Uganda.
