NSW Government and Paralympics partners to support the Imagine Education Program, fostering inclusive sports opportunities and challenging disability stereotypes.
NSW Government and Paralympics Australia established a partnership to back the Imagine Education Program which aims to enhance sporting accessibility for all people and dispute stereotypes about individuals with disabilities.
NSW Minister for Sport Steve Kamper declared the government will provide complete sports participation opportunities to any citizen across all ability ranges and age groups.
The government made a strategic investment into Paralympics Australia’s Imagine Education Program to demonstrate their ongoing dedication toward dismantling disability stereotypes while supporting disabled student participation.
Catherine Clark from Paralympics Australia explained that the program acts as a catalyst for developing sports-based inclusion in society.
Through its core objective the Imagine Education Program trains students about disability capabilities while motivating increased sports participation to establish strong inclusion and better understanding at an early age.
The partnership continues similar Paralympic support programs that the NSW Government launched previously.
NSW launched its Para Sport Unit in March 2025 through funding support from the NSW Government amounting to $2.305 million to expand Para-athlete access to specialized training facilities and coaching resources.
Through the Imagine Education Program the government seeks to establish disability inclusion as a core classroom component which will generate long-term modifications in social awareness by teaching students positive attitudes and inclusive behaviors during their formative years
